Composition – Etodolac, Thiocolchicoside
Etodolac and thiocolchicoside are a prescribed combination for the treatment of painful muscle spasm and related musculoskeletal conditions. The tablet helps to relieve the pain and stiffness of muscles. It also helps with inflammation associated with back pain, osteoarthritis, neck pain, and other related muscle and joint disorders. The formulation improves movement.
The dual action of the combination reduces pain and inflammation. It is used for short-term treatment during muscle contraction.
Etodolac– The first component of the combination helps to reduce prostaglandin production by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes, resulting in reduced pain and inflammation.
Thiocolchicoside – The second component of the medication works as a muscle relaxant.
There are some side effects that may occur in some individuals. Most common side effects are temporary and go away as the body gets adjusted to the medication. Some side effects can be severe and persist, which requires immediate medical attention.
The combination of etodolac and thiocolchicoside can interact with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines such as naproxen, ibuprofen, immunosuppressants, and antipsychotics. All the medications should be avoided with the consent of a healthcare professional. Mixing them can result in unnecessary harm.
